Out of interest..what will a under 12 use to split logs...? They're far too young to be given the likes of an axe or powered saws etc.

Should read stack logs. Their dad bringing tractor with log splitter. How much diesel would it use? Not child labour, but neighbourly offer, just don't want them to be out of pocket. We will return neighbourly favours when required also.

Dad will be operating log splitter.

Just ask their dad what's fair € in his opinion.

I imagine that they are varying in age. and you will not be slave driving them. A twenty spot between them if it is very easy going. If your fater is very fast on logsplitter or has a lot split before they start a tenner each.

I remember spending 3 days spronging out a cow house at 12 or 13 years of age for and aul lad.. 2 pound notes. Was quite upset bout it! I never give a chap less than a tenner.

this is going to be hard to judge. you have the following variables
    1. how much diesel will the tractor use
    2. does the other farmer want to be paid or is it just a favour
    3. he will have the kids with him but will they do much work?

3 kids might be with him. now they could be excellent and get a serious amount of blocks stacked or b. they could be useless and better out of they way for example if they stack them queer or is they are falling and hurting themselves. You will have to judge if you would be faster to stack them yourselves.

id say if if the farmer wants nothing you would still need to give the kids €50 between them and say share that between ye. That then would also cover the farmers diesel although his kids would be getting it.

If farmer wants so much then give him that and see if the kids were useful maybe €20 between them and if there a hinderence give them a box of choclates and tell them to stay out of the way over there and eat them.
