Hi there,

Looking at picking up my first house which I really like in a small housing estate being developed. The builder insists on stage payments but a mortgage broker I spoke with said that banks won't entertain this. I couldn't be any newer on this sort of thing so any advice is appreciated.

The broker said that stage payments are only if you're building your own house or similar circumstances. Is this true?
