I'm heading to Berlin later this month and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations of make-up shops/brands not available in Ireland that would be worth picking up. Also if anyone knows how the prices of stuff you can get here compares to the cost over there?

    Thanks :D

    Hi,

Definitely try and pick up some Kiko -similar to Mac - good quality with huge colour range. I like their tinted lip balms, eye shadows and brushes.

    Berlin is cool-enjoy!

Try Rossman. Its the German version of Boots. Its really good value and has totally different brands to Ireland. All the tweezers, nail trimming kits are amazing. They are all hand made in Germany and are a fraction of the price of anything you find here. Muller is also really good. Its more upmarket than Rossman or DM(another German version of boots). I got Chanel de Bleu in Muller for about 35% cheaper than home.

But Douglas is were you want to go to buy quality makeup. Like all German stores its full with helpful staff( who all speak english usually). My friend got NYX foundation in it that matched her skin perfectly and only cost €7. Its an American brand. Douglas has tons of brands we dont get here.

The German VAT rate is 19% versus 23% here. But Germany has so much competition that prices are a lot cheaper.
