Applying for Position Abroad - Mention Leaving College?

Hi, I'm looking to apply for a job in the UK. I'm studying film at the moment. I want to drop out as it's so academic that it's a nightmare, but not without something to do first. This seems like the perfect reason to if successful. It's for the position as an editor for a online video production company that I actually really love and have loved for a couple of years. I've a good CV and a fair amount of experience. I doubt that I'll get it just because of the sheer volume of applications they'd get, but I still want to apply anyway to give myself a chance.

Because I'm in college at the moment, I don't know what to say on my cover letter and CV. I'll be deferring for this year and moving if I get the job, and then if they keep me on (they could let me go after six months) I'll be leaving the course officially. As it's a film course, it's relevant to the position as I've learned about editing here. Three of the five people in the company are college drop-outs. Their degrees were to learn about what they're working as now, but they said that college wasn't for them, so I guess I know that they're not going to turn their nose up at me for saying I want to drop out for the job. But is that something you should say even? The fact that I'm in Ireland makes it obvious that I'll have to drop out, I guess. Should I include that I'm currently studying film on my CV though?

I'm totally lost as to what I should say on my cover letter and CV surrounding this. If anybody could help me out, that'd be great, thanks!
