with boards recently destroyed in arguments about springers I was curious of something else.

Are many people on here hunting IKC English setters? I myself am but I haven't come across many others using them? Are they a breed beginning to die out?

Not blowing smoke up my own hole but I am lucky enough to own a brilliant English setter. He is bred from great trialling lines and is a great rough shooting companion. So if anyone wanted their bitch covered Id gladly show you my dog working and allow him cover her to keep the Breed alive.

Cant because my identity would be known straight away.

I know that pedigree well. I would have competed against all the dogs that were trialled from Panter to Tork.

Alright lad no worries. Do you use English setters for rough shooting or do you only trial them? This is my first 1 and they've such a soft nature to them. The feckers would always change their arm

    Shooting is my passion.
    Trialling is the proof.

Got my first one 13 months ago as a pup I have 4 reds the reason I kept away from them was false setting and been stickey well I have to say I was proved wrong with this dog no false setting and flushes on command,i have shot 15 pheasants over this dog on his own 7 woodcock and 6 snipe he is top class in heavy cover and started retrieving 2 weeks ago one was a woodcock across a river in flood so cant knock them anymore.

Did you get the dog from Mr. Tom D. ?

Think they're lovely looking dogs. Havint seen any work but did manage to chat to lad last week who unfortunately lost his English setter half hour before I met him. His dog went into some heavy gorse and he heard a shot and a yelp few minutes later.

I guessed it when I saw new edition coming in both sides.
That plus he's sired more setters in this country including my mates (who's not a bad dog mind)
