that's the iPad air , newest model is the iPad Air 2 , better processor ans Touch ID but that's still a bargain

Got it the last time they were reduced. Even though there is an iPad air 2, this one is still a decent device for the money.

new A8x processor and finger print scanner. the new model has a smaller battery but the new chip is more power efficient and both boast around 10hrs browsing time

Worth mentioning the person who posted this deal on HUKD said it was for 3 days only which would mean it expires tonight so for anyone unsure it might be an idea to reserve one and do a printout at the cheaper price and hopefully the manager will honour it.

I've just ordered one of these to replace my iPad mini as I need the bigger screen size.
I'd love to be able to set it up as a clone of my current ipad with everything I have on the mini appearing on new one.
What's the best (easiest) way to do this without having to use itunes...?

Do an iCloud back up of your current iPad.
When you're setting up the new one it'll ask you to set up as new or from a backup.

I went down this morning to pick up the one I reserved last night and it came up as €479, I showed my confirmation email to the girl on the till and she just said no problem, and gave it to me for the €389 deal.
Thanks to the poster for the heads up about the expiry or I might have spent another few days deliberating before missing the offer....

Just need a nice case for it now....

yep prompted me into buying it tbh and had the same experience in Argos. Really good resale on iPad 3 which is a great bonus too so the upgrade isn't costing me a whole lot.

BTW picking up this CaseCrown case from Amazon which got great reviews

Had the same experience in Argos today around 12. Thankfully there was no issue with giving it at the €389 price.

Anyone looking for a genuine case, here's a chap on adverts who's selling genuine smart cases. I've got two off him and they're genuine and about half what apple charge for them. Protection is pretty decent too with all round coverage.

I wonder how they did that as Apple have strict guidelines with retailers regarding sales on their devices.

AFAIK the only time its allowed is when Apple themselves do their "10% off" day once a year.

November doesnt ring any bells, think they do it mid year usually?

There wont be a January sale by individual retailers and Id say Argos will have their wrists slapped by Apple for that price drop on the Air.

It is worth keeping an eye on Argos pricing as they have lots of goods on sale price that are cheaper than other retailers including online from time to time. My brother got a great deal on a go pro camera before Christmas that offered much higher spec than competitors.

I wouldn't think so, they had them at that price before Xmas too, in early November I think, and again the 32 gb was cheaper than the 16gb.
