Maplins are selling the Archos Gamepad 2 for €99 in their clearance section. I picked one up in my local store.

Decent device, used it so far to play N64 emulators which work great with the dual analog sticks. It has a mapping tool, but nearly everything I've tried has detected the thumbsticks/buttons by default without any mapping required.

Nice quality screen and battery is pretty good, was playing emulators for a few hours and still had 50% battery.

Comes with full copies of Modern Combat 4 and Asphalt 8 as well, not for me personally but nice enough freebie.

So can normal Android games be run on this yoke, or is it all only Archos' version of everything?

    It runs any Android game.

Only using it the past few days but for 99 it's very good value.

    Nice one.

Might get this as a stepping stone for the kid between iPad and Xbox. Let him get used to the sticks.

Seems like a good deal for a quad core 2gb android device, you'd pay similar money for one from China, but this way you skip the 4 week wait, customs and you can return it to the shop.

I was wondering because Blanchardstown quoted me 105 as well, even better if 16GB
