Very expensive on Amazon new right now. My pair were from Amazon Warehouse, and were €150. They were identical to new to my eyes though. Packaging was untouched. Best Headphone I ever owned.

Just because they used to be massively overpriced and crap doesn't mean that they are now not crap. Nor are they a bargain.

12 dollars to make or thereabouts.

Yours for at least ten times that amount.

    Wonderful.

What you've done there, quite cunningly, is described every product that has ever gone on sale.

Some companies charge more than cost price for items? Shocking.

Brilliant deduction. The vast majority don't charge over a 1000% mark up though, as I'm sure you're aware.

Nope, if you're after decent headphones they aren't worth, if your fashion conscious and want them in that regards then their value is really a personal thing for you to decide.

If I give you $12 will you buy the materials required and manufacture a pair for me?

Dr. Dre didn't spend 7 years in headphone college to get his PhD for nothing, you know...

If anyone is looking to splash out a bit on headphones, the B+O H6 are £180 on amazon-this is for the blue version which was made for a Pepsi promo but has the exact same electronics as the rest of the range which retail for £330 or €400 in the B+O shop here. Alternatively, the very highly rated Philips Fidelio X1 has been discontinued by the manufacturer and can be got for about €150 from various websites instead of its original €300.

The Solo 2's are actually very well received with the 'audiophile' folks. Decent headphones for that money.

I actually went with these, even though that last video did sound a bit dodgy for some reason :)

Which.co.uk magazine says that the bass and the mid-tones are a lot higher than expected (but they only tested with Jazz, Blues, and classical I think)
Spent the last hour playing Call of Duty and was very impressed... so far so good.

Yep, I went ahead and got them too, thanks op. The problem with the apparently better headphones is that the cups are huge on the. The solo are nice and compact.

Not as big a challenge as you think, many Chinese manufacturer's will be more than happy to oblige.

Solo 2 are a tight pair of headphone. Please don't comment unless you know what you're talking about. Now you could get a pair of HD-25 II or Amperiors for a bit more money but they aren't nearly as markedly superior as they were to the old ones.

At 130 this is good value.

    Seriously? in 2015?

The Amperiors are actually quite a step above the Solo's, especially in clearness, loud heavy tracks the difference is noticeable.

I know, I have a pair. The difference is noticeable but not to a point that renders the beats worthless. Couple that with the fact that some people actually like the way beats look and it's nearly a no brainer. Applying the "beats suck" tag to a product that is clearly trying to leave that label behind is unfair.

Lol do people still care about and buy beats? Amazing

It's a decent set of headphones, at a decent price.

Perhaps keep your lol's for the headphones forum over there ->

For the money I reckon these headphones are one of the best out there. Probably not for everyone in terms of looks
