I have a pair of these and they leave a terrible deep depression on the greens esspecially after heavy rain and greens are soft. Id lovr to send them back to adidas..wearing them 6 months and they,re still cutting the heels off me.

Someone (Kieran. ?) on here mentioned they were banned at their home course iirc.
They're a terrible shoe in terms of the damage they do to a soft green.

I have 2 pairs and never had a problem with them cutting me.
But they leave the greens in an awful state, only place they dont are on Links courses. I have shaved mine down and not a problem anymore.

If clubs Ban them it wont matter what you do to them, even if you took the spikes off Banned is Banned at the end of the day.

I had a pair of these and the same happened me, wore them for about 6/7 rounds and kept cutting my heals and toes. Got a pair of ECCO biom gore tex and never looked back. Waterproof and excellent in terms of comfort. I'll never buy adidas shoes again.

I think this is the problem with addias.

They are a football boot company trying to make golf shoes. You also get a sense that the manufacturing quality is outsourced should we say.

Yes we all know all our gear is made in Asia . But I think Germany have lost sight of their own product identify.

To sum up, I'd rather a Langer Shoe from 80s versus some of the stuff I got . That , to be honest fell apart.

The tour 360 shoe lost me . A previous customer for life.

Are Foot Joy the only honest golf shoe left ?

But shoes are so cheap now. They are sort if disposable items.

A company like Adidas designing a shoe that could damage greens . Sums up modern fast sell design.

I think so, can't see myself ever varying away from their standard offering. But they have flirted with the fancy stuff too so they are not without sin :)

Give me a pair of dry joys any day.

I have Adipures, brilliant shoes now out of production but I have some stockpiled. Everything after that has been rubbish, Pro told me more than half get returned. Only good thing is they take them back without question (they obviously know they're rubbish).

Taylormade are Adidas so no excuse for them not making good golf stuff.

I have a pair of ladies adizeros and never had a problem comfort wise. actually think it's a great show. however I did notice this week when I played (first time to play on soft ground) that they were leaving awful marks on soft greens especially say if u put you weight on one foot say to pick ball out of hole etc. very bad form from any company to not ensure products are fit for purpose before releasing them for general sale!!

I have the tour 360's, they leave an impression on the greens, not really that noticeable though, but so did my foot joys!

I have the Adizero TR and haven't notcied anything with them?

    Good comfort aswell

Have 2 pairs of these and they are the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn.

The most comfortable shoe i have ever had. wud have bought 2nd pair only i could not get my size!!!!

Worst pair of shoes ever made and I've tried them all, only FJ or Eccos from now on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,174 ✭✭✭opinionated3

Absolutely love these shoes. As light and as comfortable as anything I've tried. Have 2 pairs now and couldn't go back to footjoy. Agree about the greens though but only in soft conditions.

Had a pair now for a few months and I'm finding they absolutely stink - literally. They smell like a cheap pair of runners after a round and the car nearly needs to be fumigated when I get home. Anyone else finding this or is it just me?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,695 ✭✭✭ForeRight

I wasn't allowed out to play in concra wood in these shoes.
There was a big sign on the counter when I went into the pro shop although nothing on their site when I bookedcthe tee time. A bit ridiculous after you've drove up there I suppose but to be fair I was the only one in my group wearing them and the pro gave me his shoes to play in.

If a large group turned up in them you'd be snookered

Bought a pair of these during the summer big Adidas fan (loved predators).

After 6 weeks they burst. I had noticed they were leaving really deep marks on the greens.

when I brought them back to American Golf for a replacement the guy warned me that some courses don't allow them (when I bought them the other staff member didn't mention it).

went for the nike lunar 2 the most comfortable shoe ever!

I have a pair of them..
I found them a good shoe, but they cut the heels of me badly, and still do even after a year, but very light and good to keep out water.
Terrible for Cleats falling out also.
Gas that clubs may ban them

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21 jonrambo

have these adidas shoes and they do leave an awful mark on the wetter greens, best out there are the eccco gortex, a bit expensive but 100% waterproof and comfy out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,800 ✭✭✭Senna

They are brutal on soft greens and probably should only be worn in summer. But for €45 on sportsdirect nothing comes close for weight, comfort and value. I've had me nearly a year and still water tight.

After reading the thread I kept an eye on this yesterday and couldn't see and serious indentations, very similar to the playing partners FJ's and the greens were taking pitchmarks easily so pretty soft. That being said I weigh just under 10st so maybe I'm a little light

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,080 ✭✭✭bustercherry

A great shoe and no issues with the greens for me whether they are soft or not. If you are a fat middle aged man they are not aimed at you though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 230 ✭✭rollotomasi

I have a pair and they are very comfortable but I too have found that they make serious indentations in the greens. I feel i can't use them when the greens are soft. Considering the problems with these shoes, I'm surprised Adidas offer replacement spikes to solve/reduce the issue.

Soft spikes on already protruding crown.
Can see why they should banned TBF.

Those are the ones I have, studs look different so mine aren't the ones causing trouble?

They are the cheaper version of the adizero one the adizero tr i think they are called? ? Different soles in the 2 versions. ... . Tbh i think this is all much ado about nothing. If the pros can wear them on some of the world's most prestigious courses why can't we wear them here??

You can wear them here. Only one club has been mentioned that has banned them.

The worlds most prestigious courses don't have soft greens when the Pros play on them.
