Port forward issue

    Hi,
    If you are using the Web Browser then you will also need to set up a Port Forward rule for Port 80 or whatever the http/web port is in the DVR Networking menu.

    Follow the guide on PortForward.com but use 80 instead of the other ports.

    You will still need the other ports open too.

    You really don't want to use unencrypted HTTP for remote camera access over the internet. Anyone who can sniff this traffic will be able to nab your login credentials and then view your cameras at leisure (and possibly even disable the cameras depending on the capabilities of the remote account), putting you at risk of break-ins.

    I'd advise using HTTPS instead along with strong passwords, or even better, set up a VPN if possible (and you'd want to double-check that the Android app is also using a secure connection).

    Thanks all, I had not seen the requirement for port 80.
    Regarding security it is only for looking at cattle calving in sheds so not too bothered but will look further into it with https.
