would you think im telling a lie if i said i was out shooting today with another man and our two dogs.

he was up one side of a ditch and me the other with the 2 dogs working the ditch side by side on each side.

next thing 3 woodcock rose from my side and 2 at his side 5 in the one spot

has any one ever seen that before?

I also had 3 up in front of me this Sunday, got one, only had one shot to fire( reason is s subject of another thread),Very frustrating.
Can't see it being to far fetched to see 5. Great to see it all the same.

Id be interested to hear if theres a reason for them bunching like that .

they bunch like that on occasion or so i have found usually when your doing a bit of cover usually a hedge or strip. But they all run instead of flush. When they run out of cover they break in a bunch. This may not be 100% accurate but woodcock and ferreting are my two things and this is my experience
