Was in Tesco Maynooth and picked one up. Delighted to get 100 off. Scan in with the full price of 309.00 but manager gave the discount as advertised on the floor. The guy said they have a few left in stock, not sure if nationwide

    They also have

Samsung Tab 4 7 inch for 119.00 (lots of stock)
    Samsung Tab 3 10.1 inch for 179.00
    Kids Samsung for 169

Would this be a good tablet ? Looking for a tablet , but don't fancy spending much more than €200 on one.

Anybody know when this was realesed ? Is it the most recent Samsung tablet ?

I want one of these but I won't be near a tesco for another 5 days. :( Any way I can reserve one?

I'm looking for a 7". Be great if I found one in a store tomorrow and I could use the €20 off €100 Aldi vchr.

Anybody know if I could use it with the Red Cow Click'n'Collect?

Would this work for click n collect in a few days time??

The black one is 309 still. Only the white one is reduced. Odd and annoying.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,743 ✭✭✭blatantrereg

Think the 10.1 is an error. It is cheaper than the 8 inch version. The 7 inch version is a tenner cheaper in currys. (Crossed out mistake: The 7" tab 3 is cheaper than the 7" tab 4.)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,685 ✭✭✭✭wonski

I have seen a guy filling the clearance shelf in Tesco extra in Naas today (3-4pm) with 7" - all for €119 and there was at least 10 on display.

There was also Asus transformer for €219.

Haven't asked how many more they have and what specs the Asus was as I have spent enough this Xmas. If I asked a question I would end up with both:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,265 ✭✭✭deiseindublin

I got one in Tesco Naas, loads in stock and I had the choice of the black or white for €119, better still that I had a €20 off €100 vchr out of date today.

I had a look at the covers and they were €40 so left them behind.

Pity they don't favour us with club card boost on electricalgoods, unlike their UK customers

Did click and collect for Friday. Payment processed so shouldn't be a problem

Picked up a white 10.1 in New Ross today for €209. cheers OP.
The 20c voucher for fuel is nice also!

Its a passable tablet, nothing amazing, a good distance from being Samsung's top of the line, I think the deal for the Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 that Currys / PC World had for 299 was a far better deal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,766 ✭✭✭RossieMan

you're paying for the Samsung badge on these, specs wise, these are very average. you'd be much better with the hudl 2 from the UK.

No that's the crap 2012 version (note in the spec the resolution is 1280 x 800 pixels.), the one from Currys was the real deal 2014 Galaxy Tab Pro with the 2560 x 1600 resolution and vastly superior in every way.

Think the 10.1 is an error. It is cheaper than the 8 inch version. The 7 inch version is a tenner cheaper in currys.

Currys have the Tab 3 7 inch for 109 -
Currys have the Tab 4 7 inch for 179

Tesco have the tab 4 7 inch for 119

So not a valid comparison I think

we have galaxy tab 3 10.1 and ipad 3 same size. Much prefer the galaxy personally.

Did they say anything about the price? Did click and collect for a white one on Wednesday and due to pick it up today but price has gone back up to €349.

I asked was it the same price when they rang and they said yes. The receipt shows €100 discount for a price match refund.

Profiteering, and no is the short answer. They changed their tune with the overhaul last year after the introduction of selling fee's

€275 for that tablet is below the RRP, though.

I know what you are trying to say, but there is nothing you can do about it.

I would love to know that every time something is posted in BA this helps other posters to buy what they need for themselves.

There is, however, a group of people who buy these items to make a profit.

Some of them scan these threads, probably.

Lets all offer €210,at least he'll make €1 on each one.

Oh don't get me wrong it doesn't bother me that he buys them cheap and sells them on for more. I just wouldn't purchase from anyone who I thought was doing that a lot.

Pretty sure they don't have to give you anything at this point except a refund, anything more than that would be good will on their behalf.

Taking the proverbial buying four, I got one 7" Tab 4 for €119 of which I am very happy with, nice little Tab would have bought the 10.1" if it were in stock but so be it, thanks OP for the tip.
