Does anyone know what is involved in hiring an apprentice? Who pays the apprentice?

I'm hoping to be busier next year and I'm considering taking on an apprentice. I see the economy turning around next year by the looks of things. I'm involved in the construction industry.

You do when they're working. The state when they're in training.

FAS ( whatever they're called now) will check your company as well to ensure that you can provide the level of on the job trading required.
