Help - losing my eyebrows!

    Hi girls!

As the title says, I'm in a dilemma. About six months ago I noticed a tiny part of my left eyebrow seemed to have lost some hairs. They never grew back. As of now, far more patches of hairless eyebrow have appeared, on both eyebrows now.

The only thing I can think of that mat be causing this is my tint. I used to tint at the beauticians every 2 - 3 months along with having a thread. But as I loved the result of tinting so much I bought the stuff myself and started to tint every two weeks.

Is this bad? Is this what is causing my bald eyebrows? It's beautician grade products I use, Refectocil and Combinal.

Any help appreciated, and anything that works that I can use to get them to grow back?

    Thanks :)

Tinting every two weeks would be a bit harsh I would guess - could you imagine dying your hair every two weeks and the state it would be in? :/

I would stop the tinting for the moment anyway, how is the hair on your hair? Have you noticed it's becoming thinner at all?

I'm not sure of the name of it, but I remember reading before that if you use the stuff that is supposed to make your eyelashes grow on your eyebrows, it makes them grow like crazy. I think it's what was responsible for Demi Lovato's brows a while back!

    Thanks Aeternum!

Hair on head is fine, no problems there. Had all blood work done recently and no issues health wise.
Only thing that comes to mind is the increasing in the tinting. My own fault :( Should've realised it couldn't be a good idea!

Is it rapidlash? I've heard it's awesome, but at €50 a pop I'm not so sure. Then again, if it really works!!! :)

Just after doing a quick google and apparently what she used was called 'Latisse', not sure if it's available here, maybe someone else might know of a good serum?

I have heard good things about using vaseline for eyelash growth, maybe put some on your eyebrows before bed?

Use rogaine. It's what man use for hair loss. But it's one of the few products proven to cause hair growth. Skin is an incredible barrier. Few chemicals can get through it. Rogaine can though. I have seen dermatologists recommending it. It's in boots over the counter

Thats symptoms for a mild thyroid problem. If bloodwork came back clear then it's probably the tinting

It's not, and even in the States it's prescription-only.

Tinting every twos week is definitely harming your eyebrows. Firstly I'd advise you stop tinitng immediately along with any plucking that you might be doing.

I would also advise you start taking biotin as this helps with hair growth and also that you start using rogaine foam on your eyebrows as well.

Lastly don't start tinting again until a while after they are fully regrown and are healthy again and even then don't tint every two weeks.

    Thanks everyone for your replies!

Forgive my ignorance, but are Rogaine and Regaine two different products?!
I've just tried Boots website for both and neither seem to be available.
Where can I get Rogaine? I will definitely give it a try.

The Rapidlash serum costs €50 for a tiny tube, so may get a better deal with the Rogaine.

I've now been a month without tinting, plucking, etc. No hair grow yet on the bald patches, but hair growing mad where I don't want it! Typical :D

Have you tried Vaseline yet NYCityBabe? It might be a fairly cheap possibility to try until you can source one of the more effective products! :)

I tint my own eyebrows and lashes every month for the past 15 years and have never had a problem with hair loss. I also use Lipocils lash serum on my lashes and it makes them longer but you need to use daily for about 3 weeks until you notice the growth, they have the same product for eyebrows and it's easily available on any of the uk beauty sites.

If it does get to a stage where you need something more permanent, look into eyebrow tattoos, seriously they are really good if you do a bit of research and go to somebody who knows what they are doing. Will work better if you still have some hair left, they can look really natural.
