Today on RTE Radio News at One , RTE brought us an update on the Air Asia plane ,,, from The Guardian's correspondent , in Indonesia , in Singapore no in Beijing 4,800km away . Was it laziness? cut-backs to save licence fee? did they look for an English speaker in Indonesia? Singaporeans can't speak English, lah!
A few months ago when M. Holland had women issues , they got a UK correspondent to inform us from Paris , about the French reaction to the scandal. I can well imagine that , even if their English was good enough for RTE, the French correspondents were probably too embarrassed to discuss the Presidents affairs:rolleyes:

RTE has a tiny foreign news presence so they use the next nearest English speaking country with correspondents. Simple enough - rather like yourself.

While there might be a serious issue to discuss somewhere in the OP, the title belongs in the Conspiracy Theories forum I'm afraid
