Whats the difference? Looking to upgrade my vectra c sri 08 lighting, will this pass the nct and any errors up on the dash with the upgrade? Seen them on ebay and prices can range from £25 to £55

Depends, no difference if they are both hid but sometimes eBay merchants make normal filament style bulbs out to be xenon bulbs either because of blue tinting or maybe xenon gas. Hid bulbs need ballasts and the bulbs don't have filaments. Traditional bulbs don't need ballasts and do have a filament.

Probably not without washers and self levelling going on recent talk here. Do you have conventional reflector lamps or projector lamps?

    Warnings? Dunno.

Aftermarket HID kits will fail the NCT unless they are also retro fitted with auto levelling sensors and headlight washers.

You also should give a bit of consideration to other drivers and not blind them with crap incorrectly fitted kits that skater bright light all over the place except where you need it to be.

Some nice light reading (no pun intended) here OP:

It's actually changed in the last year, a retrofit that passes the alignment test, has levelling and washers will still fail. It must all come from the factory as one type approved system and anything added/removed/broken from that system will fail.

Having said that, the Vectra C has halogen projectors, so any aftermarket HIDs won't cause a whole lot of glare. They'll still need to be swapped back to halogen for the NCT, but I couldn't see you having trouble with them apart from the NCT.

Not fantastic, but not terrible either. The hotspots are in a good place too. The main issue there is the dark spot down the centre of each beam caused by the capsule's earth lead. This will make the output look patchy on the road at night. You'd need a CAN bus compatible kit and preferably a relay harness to protect the body computer.

They won't be as bright as the likes of Osram Nightbreakers, and the Nightbreakers would have a much smoother output. Cost wise they're about the same, and to be fair the HID kit will probably last longer than the Nightbreakers.
