Polymerisation

Hey guys I'm covering polymerisation for an exam and was wondering if you could answer a few of my questions (some may seem idiotic, I'll admit)

    1. Can we have polymers that aren't vinyl derivatives? For example, can but-2-ene be a monomer or is it sterically hindered by the 2 methyl groups?
    2. For cross linked polymers, are they linked by monomer units? If so, can it be several or one? Does it have to be a monomer unit or simply chemical linkage?
    3. Amorphous glass to Elastomer to Crystalline glass to Liquid? We can cool an elastomer to stabilise it and return to an amorphous glass but can we return to amorphous once the substance has become crystalline? Is the crystalline transition temperature a “point of no return”?
