Planning on a bathroom revamp in 2015 & thinking of getting rid of the bath in favour of a nice walk in shower unit, bath is rarely used and thinking of replacing the current bath & over bath shower combo with a nice spacious walk in power shower. Any views yeah or nay ? Interested for the views of those who made the change or thinking of doi g similar ?

I made the change and nobody in the house has any regrets. Bath was rarely used, other than to stand in while having a shower, so nobody missed it. It gave us some extra room in the bathroom and let us change the layout a bit

You might dent the resale value of your home a bit if it is the sort of property that might appeal to people with young children.

A lack of a bath will allways knock some money off the asking price of a house or will put a couple with kids off buying the house.
Try to keep the bath if you can.
If you are set on creating a walk in shower then dont forget about tanking,as if you dont do this 1st you could have serious water leaking issues in years to come.
Talk to your tiler and or plumber about a tanking kit before any wall and floor tiling is done or any shower tray installed..

If you don't use one, not having a bath is only an issue if you are selling the house. We are just about to do the same. Have kid, 7 and 5, but they use the shower, and although I wasn't sure at first, now I can't wait! Good luck.
