Okay so I'm getting close to having a collection now at this stage but you can never have enough torches and for this price I couldn't resist.

It's a 500 Lumen torch, looks very small and it's just over €2.50 delivered!

It takes 1 AA battery aswell.

Always handy to have these around the house!:pac:

Delivery is the usual 2 to 3 weeks and it's too low a value for Customs.

    Discount Code: b64c337de3 (Expires 31/12)

Coupon brings the price to €2.52 delivered, a bargain to say the least!

    Enjoy! :)

It says its 4.5 volts- surely that means 3 AA batteries- not one?
    Looks nice though.
If you have a quick glance- there is a metalic sky blue one- for 20c less- alongside a gold one for $1'ish more- and other colours. Its funny how they are charging different amounts for the different colours.

Personally- the raw aluminium and edges on it- mean its not one I'd buy- even at the ridiculously low price- as I have a habit of stashing a small torch in my pocket (with my memory sticks etc)- and I'd imagine I'd damage something sooner or later with it.

Feck it- at this price- I'll get one....... damn you.........

It seems the different colors are different models.

    Unless they are both telescopic?

You can't really argue with the price- even if it is a piece of crap- its cost next to nothing- so its worthwhile taking a punt on it.

Customs and Excise must hate us here.......

In order to get that output stated (500 lumens) . You need to use 3.7 V AA battery.
    Known as Ultrafire or TrustFire.

This torch will work with ordinary AA 1.5V battery but the output will not be that good.

I bought the single AA battery one thinking it was the one that could take the larger UltraFire batteries.

For light output- Not that different to the ones in the euro shop really- except you can make the beam really narrow to make it a small bright spot.

Id have preferred the UltraFire one as I have lots of those batteries here with no use for them.

Mine arrived today, takes a AA battery and seems very sturdy build, had ordered slightly before this thread was posted...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,509 ✭✭✭viking

Can anyone recommend a *safe* 3.7 V AA battery to use with this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 321 ✭✭gripcasey

I got mine as well. I order after seen it on BA

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,896 ✭✭✭ozmo

I ordered in error the AA only battery one - and its not bad - I think light wise - its about on par with the cheap Deals led torches that take 3AAA batteries - but is far better quality construction and the light is more even and more focused.
Its small but a lot heavier than the Deals torches.

So I bought also the the larger version that takes a single 3.6v battery. That is a larger torch but is truly impressive outdoors - it casts a focusable beam of light like a search light that you can see clearly focused far away on tree tops etc.
This one would hurt your eyes.

I got mine too, today. Working really good for that price. Thanks OP.

I have also ordered another one that is 5.9 quids, before ordering this. This is yet to arrive.

Edit: I got the first one today (27/1). This one is bigger and has high intensity of illumination.

Completely forgot about the 45 days and I copped it too late. Missed out on it.
Lesson learned I suppose. Order and if not received on the 35th day, open paypal dispute!

M+ine arrived in post today . Very happy. Small, sturdy, bright. Popped in standard 1.5V AA and perfect.
Noticed three settings also when depress button in quick succession, very bright, not so bright and then strobe.
    Thanks OP, bargain.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,826 ✭✭✭g0g

Got mine yesterday too thanks OP. Thanks to the person who mentioned about strobe above - I thought I had banjaxed it briefly yesterday!

The focus on the top is cool and when in its most narrow beam it looks like it would project a fairly long distance!
