I anticipate that a thread will be required for this......

Can I just kick it off with a "D'Arcy left Today FM for this? "

That saying about dogs looking like their owners.......

Diarmuid's dog looks like a scruffy ould mongrel....

Rosanna's female dog looks like a prim and proper bitch....

What utter rubbish of a program

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,105 ✭✭✭Vorenus400

I think this was made before he left TodayFM. I remember him discussing it with Rosanna months ago on the radio. I presume it wasnt aired due to how incredibly terrible it its.
Twink must be kicking herself that she wasnt invited. Its off back to Tron for me on 2

I'm not paying my TV license next year if this is what it's being spent on.

  • Everyone involved in this should be ashamed of themselves

    Including the dogs

I hear what you're asking but in fairness, is she any worse than Rosanna being famous as a beauty pageant?

    Ha ha ha ha!

I'll give RTE this - they haven't copied an English channel on this one as they usually do :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,424 ✭✭✭Robson99

Rte really has gone to the dogs with this. Prime time TV slot on a Sunday evening. What a joke

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,004 ✭✭✭✭Realt Dearg Sec

This is the kind of thing that they'll be laughing about in nostalgia shows years from now. The dogs aren't even any good, let alone the "celebrities"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,520 ✭✭✭passremarkable

all involved are probably regretting this show already!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,856 ✭✭✭ratmouse

THE WORST I HAVE EVER SEEN! EVER! The UK (non (fake) celebrity) version of this is actually an excellent show with properly skilled dogs and dedicated owners.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 78 ✭✭Ammonite

Wtf is this? The dogs (wisely) aren't participating in any of the challenges. The "human" challenges are time filling dignity sapping rubbish. Never seen so much cheating on a gameshow either

This exact same format was broadcast last year on bbc , the judge is the same guy from the bbc. It was presented by John Barroman i think.

Did anybody hear that at the start of the show.. Louise Lennox left out a chocolate cake and her dog ate it, so she paid the vet 90 euro to pump the dog's stomach....

I was expecting Rosanna to take a short-cut there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,351 ✭✭✭✭Harry Angstrom

I think the RTE version of Never mind The Buzzcocks is on 2 now. Are they just making crap versions of British shows to keep Irish 'celebs' employed

Let us 'paws' for a minute, and consider how 'ruff' it was that RTE didn't show this Worldwide on the player which, judging by this thread, sounds like a car crash. The Boardsies really have been let off the 'leash'.

Ah, they did though. I used to love 'That's My Dog' on daytime ITV when I was about seven. And apparently BBC1 had a show called 'Superdogs' which was much the same.

    http://www.ukgameshows.com/ukgs/That%27s_My_Dog
Rounds included the obligatory dog assault course (because that's what dogs do), and there was a maze, the idea of which was that the dog had to find their way out but without being side-tracked by the food that's in the middle. The programme's vet, Eddie Straiton (or C.C. Guard) asked the teams medical questions about their pets, and hostess Louise Burton brought on a dog each week that belonged to a famous celebrity who had to be identified from clues.

The winning team got a chance to win lots (well, a bit) of money by trying to get their dog to pick a predetermined object (purse, handerchief or somesuch) that their owner had handled beforehand.

Superstar Dogs is no 'Pets win Prizes', but I have seen a lot worse on RTE :D
