Hi I would like some advice on whether I should buy a new laptop or upgrade my old one. I have had this laptop for over four years and it gave me no trouble until now , running slow and slow to do anything, and also the battery does not hold any charge. I am really used to it and I know exactly where everything is. It was not expensive at the time (emachines E442). I bought a new laptop a few days ago (Acer) and when I opened it up there was no CD drive in it, I was not told this before I bought it and I brought it back today. It also had windows 8.1 which I found difficult to get used to after using windows 7.
I am now considering having my old laptop upgraded with extra memory and keeping it until it gives in. Has anyone any experience of doing this and if so I would appreciate some advice. Or if you could recommend a laptop to buy which would last a while around 400 mark, thanks.
