I picked up a Samsung 48" Smart 3D TV in the sales. (Christmas present to myself )

The TV has built in Saorview/UK FTA satelite receiver with an Sky dish.

I'm wondering is their away to combine my existing UPC Analogue and UK FTA satelite feed into the one co-aux cable input and get the benefit of both sets of channels. .

Any advice would be great 😊not sure if it's possible but worth asking..

    Cheers

What do you mean 'into one input'? The satellite & UPC feeds are not present together at the point where this TV is located, & you only have a single cable leading to this TV point?

I've that tv.. I think it has both RF in (Analogue/Cable) and a RF in (Satellite) so I'm thinking.. could stand corrected but should be able to search both an amalgathe the feeds?

    Any one know?

If by 'amalgamate', you mean get everything on a single channel list, then no, I don't think, unless maybe something 'Smart Hub' related?

Anyhow, you'll be able to connect your UPC feed to the terrestrial input & the satellite feed to its input, search for channels, & switch sources depending on what you want to view.

On cool will try it out when I've it all set up :)

You could fit a Saorview aerial near your satellite dish and use a combiner/splitter to put both signals down the one cable, and then use another one to split them back.

To get the TV to tune both analogue UPC with Saorview you would need to have Saorview above Ch 35, and that depends on where you get Saorview from, but it is not really worth it as there is little on UPC analogue that is not on Satellite/Saorview at better quality.

Use Country=UK on the TV to get Freesat otherwise you just get FTA. You then have Saorview channels in the 800s, but you can shift them back anyway you like. Changing from Sat to DTT and back is a pain.

you need some sort of filter / combiner to separate the low frequencies on UPC from the higher ones on Saorview

    coverage map

    http://www.saorview.ie/get-saorview/make-the-switch/coverage-map/

eg: for Dublin you could use Kippure on channels 54, 58 rather than Tree Rock 30,33
