    Hi all

Have a new Samsung tablet and have downloaded a few apps from the play store. While the store recognises that I have done so I can't find them on the tablet. Any suggestions as to what's a miss?

    Thanks in advance

Are you getting notifications on the tablet that the apps have been installed?

I am, and I can open them from the play app initially. If I go back to the play app it recognises that I've installed them as the options are uninstall or update, yet nothing is visable on the tablet whether hidden or not.

Weird. Have you tried looking in the Manage Apps tab and searching for the installed apps?

They could be 'widget only apps'
Add a widget to the screen, see if it is in there

Just to eliminate the obvious, the apps aren't visible in the apps drawer?

I have and it shows them as being downloaded yet no icons in the app drawer. Just checked whether they were widgets and no success - one of the apps is Pinterest which I expected to be straightforward.

Are you using a different launcher? If not, try the free version of Nova or the likes, then check the apps drawer again.

Samsung launcher doesn't default to alphabetical, try and go to the Menu when the app drawer is open, then choose Sort - A to Z. Alternatively, give the tablet a quick reboot to see if they show then.

Thanks folks, the reboot worked and all the new apps are present. Didn't think you needed to restart the tablet to complete the installation.

    Thanks again

Normally you don't but the Samsung launcher is not great. I recommend using Nova Launcher instead, hugely customisable and very fast.
