    Hi Folks,
I hope that some kind person can help me with matter,

In September 2014 I purchased a Medion Lifetab 7'Tablet in my local ALDI store.

In November, it developed a problem with the charging point. It would not charge the battery. As the Tablet had a 3 year warranty, I contacted Medion who advised me to send it back to their repair centre in Germany. They sent me a letter the same day advising how to parcel it etc & also stated that they had a 10 day turn around timeframe for repairs. It was collected by their courier DPD on 5th December & arrived in Germany on 9th December.

I was hoping to have it back by the 20th December.

I contacted Medion Helpline on the 19th December & I was put on hold first, when I finally got to speak to some one I was told wrong section & they would transfer me. I was left on hold again for almost an hour. When the Customer service agent finally came on the line he told me that I was onto the wrong section again & would transfer me to the correct one.!!
He refused to take any details& just insisted on transferring me.

Given that calls to the Medion Hotline in Swindon UK are charged at 9 cents per minute from an Eircom Landline and 7p per minute from a BT Landline I could not afford to be hanging on much longer.

I then emailed their service three times & have received the standard auto generated reply that they have changed their customer email service & would I complete the enclosed web form. This I have done 3 times & have received the same reply as detailed above.

Are Medion just trying to evade their responsibilities or does any one know what I should do next? This tablet cost €100 and I cannot afford to be at the loss as I am an OAP.

Thank you for reading this post & I would appreciate any help or advice.

    Ballycarton.

Your contract is with Aldi, deal with them, not Medion.

Thank you Jarren for your reply, but I forgot to mention in my post that I did contact my local AlDI store & they gave me the number of their head office, When I contacted them they told me that as it was outside their 30 day return period, the matter lay with Medion & I should contact them. But I definately will give them another call tomorrow & see what happens.

At least I have learned a valuable lesson to never buy any Medion product or any electrical/computer device from ALDI ever again.

    Thanks again.

If they repeat that line to you, you can tell them with confidence that they're talking through their swiss: http://www.consumerhelp.ie/faulty-goods

UPDATE: I telephoned ALDI Customer Services Centre today. This time I was transferred to ALDI's English Office. I spoke to a lady called Karen. Having given her my details & described my problem, she promised to call Medion to check on the status for me. This was about 3pm. She rang back about 10 mins after I hung up , she had managed to make contact with Medion UK 's office. BUT... they would not deal with her as she did not have some minor details!!!! despite having my Medion Customer Ref. etc. She said that they do seem rather difficult to deal with, but to leave the matter with her & she would try Medion once again.

She telephoned back about 6pm and she had infact rang Medions head Office in Germany.

Good news they are going to replace the Tablet & that it was being processed this evening.
I should have it in about a week or so.
They also apologised profusely. I guess that Medion would Not like to loose ALDI 's business.

But fair play to Karen & ALDI for sorting the matter out as I was getting no where with
    Medion.

Finally a very big thank you to Jarren ,Corwill & Lebvre for your advice & valuable information.
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year. I will let you know when this replacement Tablet arrives.

Just to let you all know I finally received the replacement tablet yesterday.

So here 's hoping that it will last much longer than 2 months this time.

But I definately will not be buying any other electrical / computer in ALDI ever again.

Thanks once again for your help.
