Tracked says delivered but I don't have it.

I ordered a pair of trainers. They were sent royal mail tracked 48 hours, meaning I should have received them within 2 days. The tracking shows delivered, but I haven't had them. It's possible they could have been left in my porch, but it's totally glass and therefore see through, and right on a busy main road with a pavement and lots of people around, so in theory it could have been nicked, if it was really delivered at all. I just hate this situation, because it makes me look like I'm lying. It's basically my word against royal mail's, right? What should happen in a situation like this? Should the seller send me another pair, or do I have to wait for a royal mail investigation? And how exactly would they "investigate"?

Do you know who did the delivery, was it An Post? You could try your local sorting office, otherwise you should contact the retailer and deal with them

Check the tracking number on the anpost website, on the website you can request proof of delivery by email that might show who accepted delivery, could be neighbour, some postman leave in bins or some other place out of view.

Could be as what happened to me recently, I had a missed delivery note but the tracking number on website show as delivered, when I went to get from sorting office it was there, it was just a mistake on postman, now parcel shows it was delivered twice.

I live in England so it was just royal mail. But tracked is not a signed for service, so nobody signed for it. Tracked just means that royal mail tracked it to my door, in other words they say they delivered it, but there is no signature as there isn't one with this service. That doesn't mean that they didn't deliver it, maybe they did, but if they left it in the porch then it's clearly been stolen. But according to the ebay website, for items under £750, the seller doesn't have to get a signature from the buyer, tracked without a signature is enough for them to rule in the seller's favour.

Weird. Now the tracking doesn't say delivered any more, it says its still being processed.
