I'm thinking to Sound Proofing my bedroom wall due to noisy neighbours.

Just wondering is this effective or not. I am also quite interested to see if anyone else out there has soundproofed their home.

Noises includes walking, banging doors, squeaking doors, window banging.

If any one has any ideas or knowledge in this area would be great. Also is it a costly job?

    Thanks

What kind of Wall have you got Block / Plastered or Studded. ? Obviously studded will be easier and you won't lose a much room space. Sound proofing materials are not cheap. You will get what you pay for.

I suspect most of the sound would be transmitted through the building structure, especially the footsteps and creaking boards so it would be very difficult to insulate against imo. You may also require permission from the building owner even if you're an apartment 'owner'.

have you checked to see if other owners are having the same problem. I've done walls in the past it's not cheap to do it right. Talk to someone like Cape insulation or Kingspan who will be better able to advise on the best product for your problem.

3 hard thumps on the wall when it gets too loud.
