Comag Satellite, scart interfering with HDMI

I have two TV's one is plugged into the comag box with HDMI and the other scart.

When the scart is plugged out of the TV the HDMI one no longer receives a signal.

Plugging the LNB out of the scart comag box does the same thing. The scart box being plugged in or powered on makes no difference.

I am presuming it is completing some kind of circuit but it seems really strange that plugging the scart out of the box and the TV does not complete the circuit, at least with my limited understanding of it.

Im presuming its been wired up poorly, but I am not an electrician

can you explain a bit better, and say model no. of the comag.

If you have 2 tvs and use scart and hdmi why unplug either? Its possible there is a setting in the box where you can select hdmi output and set it at say 1080i but it may be at scart setttings of 576i.

    So say a bit more.

Problem with the coaxial cable outer conductor (braid), between the HDMI box & the LNB? Presumably both boxes are connected to the same LNB?

Check all connections on this cable, making sure there is good contact of the braid with the connectors. If the connections are alright, look for damage to the cable itself.

    Model is an SL40 HD.

The reason I wanted to unplug the scart TV was to troubleshoot it and the box with the working box and TV.

The scart TV is only picking up radio channels.

I should have just said that in the first place :P. I cant see a way to edit my first post to actually indicate my problem :P.

The two tvs are different resolutions, im not sure what the resolutions have to do but yes I can change them.

Ive checked the settings on both boxes to look for differences and the scart box that is only picking up radio has the diseq 1.0 and 1.1 as well as the motor info boxes greyed out in the satellite info menu.

I have no way to check for damage in the cables as they go into the roof and straight to the dish, its a short distance to the dish and I cant see any damage to the cables that I can actually see.

The coax braid, which im presuming is the little piece of metal wire that actually makes contact looks pretty ****ty so that might be my problem with the coax. The coax on my other tv has a little metal tube around the braid which this one does not, is that important :P

Trying to edit my other post but it never loads.

Any way of the radio channels it actually finds none of the actually work either.

If the 'little metal tube' is the actual f-connector, then yes, that is kind of important ...

No its a tiny tube around the copper cable thats missing. The tube is like 5mm diameter.

Sorry not 5mm more like 1.5-2mm.

Post/link to a photo of what you're talking about. The only other metal 'tube' I can think in coaxial cable, is the foil insulation, as seen here in the 'type A, B & C' cables, but that isn't 1 or 2 mm diameter.
