Is there any way to stop Google Maps doing this?

The accursed thing adds loops into my cycling routes when I try to re-educated it as to the shortest way somewhere.

Tell it you're walking usually works for me.

Kind of works - except when I put it back to cycling to see how long it'll take the accursed thing goes back to its former offers.

I gave up on trying to plot courses because of the above. Very frustrating. You can avoid it by practically plotting the route almost metre by metre where it 'acts up' but that defeats the purpose and is totally impractical for plotting a long ride.

    Exactly.

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Also the way it says "Turn left in 219 metres" but not what road you turn onto. How in God's name am I supposed to measure what 219 metres is when I'm cycling?
