Toying with the idea of taking up mountain biking, so I'm wondering if anyone has a decent hardtail MTB for sale, to suit a rider 6ft 4 so possibly a 19inch frame.

Here you go. Yours for 750 Euro:

It now has Planet X stem and seat post and cheaper Shimano pedals.

Ah right I know a lad selling a nice large team board man comp with literally no use but he's looking for around €500 I think.

I think he has it on adverts I'll take a look and post a link.

I can stand over this being a genuine sale and this bike has had little to no use. I'm not sure what year it is but I'd guess 2011 and if it's been ridden 10 times I'd be amazed. It's always been stored indoors. He has knobbly tyre to go with it and the semi knobbly ones he's only put on with maybe 40km use. I've talked him into a road bike which he picked up recently so he's moving this on. I'd take it myself but it's far to big for me. It really is a nice bike and surprisingly light.

I doubt he'll move to far off his price he's stubborn that way but sure ya never know.

Reckon you'll need bigger than a 19" frame, probably a 21". Assuming it's Cross Country or Trail riding you need a top tube long enough to gind up hills and get a tug on the bars when seated but short enough to get your ass over the back wheel on descents and still reach the controls. If you can go 29er with muck tyres (widely spaced knobbily) and a steel frame you could be lucky and end up with a bike you like first go. Think of upping the budget though as there's value out there and you can always sell it for a small loss if it's wrong for you.
