Any input, help or advice greatly appreciated. The display panel in my 2009 Ford Focus remains illuminated when I switch off the ignition and lock the car. Has been on overnight and am worried it will lead to draining the battery. My radio also does now not come on at all. Any ideas? Thanks.

As of today, hazards and alarm go off of their own accord. Clicking noise coming from box underneath the passenger seat only when ignition off and doors are closed. Stops clicking if doors are open or ignition is on. Mystery to me! Battery is dying as was tricky to start this morning.

That problem could be anything to be honest. What i would check in this order is Car battery , aftermarket alarm , instrument cluster gem module/fusebox.
You will need to find out what that unit is thats clicking under the seat there shouldnt be anything under there apart from the wiring to the passenger seat.

Unfortunatly there is not really much a diyer can check you will more than likely need an auto elec or main dealer if its a cluster or gem module fault.

I would start with testing the power save relay. It will be in the drivers manual or there will be an illustration on the fuse cover. It would a good idea to get the battery load tested also.

Up where the passengers feet would be there's a fuse box. Check the connections on it. It'd easy enough for them to get a kick.

this is probably your real problem, particularly if it is the original Ford item. Decaying batteries cause a myriad of unusual problems in those Fords (my wife has one!) including chattering relays, slow / hard starting, and spurious alarm activations. If replacing the battery, make sure you get a silver calcium battery as the Focus has a smart charging system in it and a conventional lead acid battery will not work properly.

Thanks but it's staying on permanently.
