What I meant was the poor quality. I doubt anyone thinks they are made in Italy. I think they're very good for kids. Couldn't comment on adult.

^^ Majority of everything is produced in these countries.

I'd disagree also. The ones I have seem to have lasted very well.

Tell me what shoes aren't made in the far east! (retorical question) If you've nothing positive to contribute to the thread there's no need to waste your time posting :D

I assume you dont have a TV, DVD, radio, phone or clothes since the majority are made in China, India,Bangladesh etc

I only wear clarks. They're a good fit, hold together well and are comfortable.

Im not dissing the thread , merely highlighting that they arent of the quality there once were since the factory closed in the 90's
As you say nearly everything is made in the East so its pretty much generic , thats why i disagree with Clarkes using their name to suggest the same quality that we grew up with.
Sorry if i upset anyone :)

It's not about upsetting anyone, just the fact that not all Chinese products are cheap and crap. :)

Do you know that most of the Sony products (cameras etc) are now made in China. Doesnt mean they are any way inferior to Japanese builds.

Yes there's loads of cheap trash made in China that you can buy online but once they are quality controlled they usually are all right. Like all apple products made in China :)

Dell used to make computers only in US. They then opened a factory in Ireland. It doesn't mean that the Irish products were anyway inferior. And now Dell products are also made in China.

Nike, Adidas and probably every other sports shoe is now more likely to be made in Vietnam. They may not be same but again not too far behind. Do you think they should also stop using these brand names? :)

    Clark's shoes are good quality.

They're not made by western mediaeval craftsmen or leprechauns but they're still pretty good quality.

The Spanish boots of Spanish leather that Bob Dylan bought his own true love were presumably not made in the far East.

Exactly the same way Apple dont make ipads/iphones, Nike dont make clothes/Runners..Alot of western companies are nothing but designers
