Handy little app if you use Plex media server. Works great with Chromecast.

Cant post the URL unfortunately, but you'll find it in the Amazon Appstore.

Cheers! I've already bought this on iOS, Windows Phone and Android. Was annoyed that I'd have to pay for it again, even though it's probably the same version that I already own from the Play store on my Kindle.

I "bought" Plex when it was for free on Amazon but installed it just recently. When I start streaming I get a popup after couple of minutes saying I have to pay to "activate" Plex and continue watching. What was the point of offering it on Amazon for free (among other paid apps that were offered for free as well) if you have to pay to use it anyway?
I presume the version on Amazon is the very same as the one in Play Store, they both are free but with in-app purchases.
Anybody who bought this app for free from Amazon and kept their "paid" status without the need to activate? I would thought that since I bought this app (even though it was for free) I should not be asked to buy it again.

that means you didn't actually buy it. I have Amazon version using it on 3 devices and never seen any screen asking to pay again

There have been loads of reports about this on the Plex forum. Plex have acknowledged there is problem and are blaming Amazon. Can't post a link but you'll find it if you Google "Forced to buy Plex Pass".

Apparently the issue is sorted buy you'll need to take an update from the AppStore. Haven't had a chance to test it myself though.

Reinstalled and seems to be working fine so far. Btw. when I go to amazon and look at "Your In-App Items" in Actions for Plex I can see "Plex for Android Activation" - Purchase Date 11 Feb. 2015

the worst thing about amazon app store is that it can be a ridiculously long time in updating the apps. tunein is still on version 12.8, it's 13.1 on play.
maybe not that big a deal for some apps but something like plex & even tunein (chromecast support in later versions) you'd be wanting the updates

If its an issue for you then actually support the developer and pay for the app on the Play Store.

The appstore has offered it for free, presumably with the support of the developer (as Amazon don't give anything away for free themselves).

Maybe you should read about how Amazon's 'free offerings' traditionally work.

Irrelevant to the post you're replying to, the app is temporarily free but when paid for the same problem you replied to exists with the amazon app store.

Has Plex changed their charging structure? It's free on the Play store also

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.plexapp.android

I installed it from Amazon and when I try to activate it tries to charge me, I've followed the advice and unistalled/reinstall but still getting asked for ~$5 when I try to activate.
