Firebird S Heat Pac no glowing reset button!!

I have a Firebird S Heat Pac (external oil fired boiler) which will not work.
The boiler was running and stopped suddenly - pressed the glowing red reset button and it restarted - but stopped later.
I have tried everything I could think of including pressing the thermostat reset button and cleaning the photo cell but nothing seems to work.
The oil tank is full and the internal timer control is set to permanently on and light is lit indicating power should be going to system.
The red reset button is not lit up as it has done on any other occasion there has been a problem. This has not happened before and as a result I don't know what to do now!!

    Please can somebody help?

There's another re set button next to the thermostat dial, small red button/pin under a small black or grey cover (size of the top of your finger) remove small cover/cap and press button.

Done that but no click as you would expect if overheating tripped the system.

Only clicks if it cut out.

    Is boiler hot ?

Check power to burner, work back, thermostat, room thermostat, motorized valves, clock, fuse, trip switches.

Checked everthing inside the house and all OK.
Should be power to the burner but the reset button will not light and no sound from the circulating pump either. Don't know if they work indepentently from each other?

Turn boiler up to Max for a few seconds and tell us if it comes on, then put it back to normal position.

Well you have given good advice to him.
He has to follow the electrical supply.

OP turn on all motorised valves manually to see if that makes a difference.

If not. Use your multimeter on the boiler stat and work back from that.

Please follow site and charter rules. "Resistance is futile"

I see its his first now, misfortunate,Im afraid though if op hasnt a way to check for power he/she will have to get someone in to pinpoint the fault

Thanks everyone, my wife dragged me off to Tescos for Xmas food shopping in the middle of this!! I'll take your advice and see what happens. Bad time for it to happen, the story of my life, something serious every Xmas for the last six years.

Thanks and have a GOOD ONE!!

Solved my problem - circulation pump had gone. Repalced it and now running and warm again.
