Hi all. My friend got a letter for his natrulisation application. It says: "Please submit documentary evidence supporting the use of your current identity as used in your application for natrulisation. The documents you submit should cover the period from the date you entered the state to day. On receipt of the above further consideration will be given to your application".

Can anyone help me understand what they are exactly asking for? Thank you.

You need to show evidence of residence in Ireland throughout all the period.

A current utility bill would not suffice.

Employment records covering the period, letters from Schools evidencing attendance years, ditto colleges where applicable, social welfare records, letters from clubs or societies where the applicant is active.

    Common sense applies here.

    Common sense applies here.

As in all matters of law per Bullingham J.

    current identity
Is the applicant using an identity different to their birth one, e.g. they have changed their name on marriage or otherwise?

Then they will want documentary evidence that this is the name that is currently used.

He doesn't have any sort of identity because of his political issues in his country but did manage to get a letter from his country stating why they won't give him any identity documents.

Does he have a bank account, passport, id of any kind, bills in his name, anything?

I have seen this question\request in past posts. Let this be a lesson for those going down the naturalization path, keep all bank statements, utility bills, tax forms, GNIB residency stamps, etc… from the time you enter the country.

You can be an overachiever and submit them with the application :)
