    Morning everyone,
Myself and my partner are due to fly out to the winter sun at the end of December for a week. We booked it late so had to pay everything up front. Unfortunately, my partner's father has become very ill. We are seriously thinking of cancelling the holiday. We didn't get insurance as we were going to buy it just before we went to spread the cost.
Does anyone know what we can do?
    Thanks.

Sorry to hear of his illness. If you booked it through a travel agent they may be able to help but as you had no insurance it will depend on their good will and ability to resell it to someone else. Taking out insurance now won't cover you as you are aware of the illness and depending on their condition when you booked it may not have covered you then either.

Unfortunately very little. You may be able to claim the tax back on the flights but depending on the airline they may have fees which cancel this out. The other possibility is to sell it on buy you'll have to see if your booking t and c allow for name changes.

Travel insurance is very inexpensive these days, sadly in this case it may be an expensive lesson to learn

If you booked it through your credit card they may cover it. Contact them.

You could stick it on adverts/donedeal and see if anyone is interested. Problem could be name change fees. Some packages use ryanair, and they can charge 110 each name. Kinda defeats the purpose.

    Hi Meathlass,
Could you explain that to me? I'm not sure how that works!

    Hi everyone,
Unfortunately, due to unexpected personal issues we can't go on a holiday that we only purchased two weeks ago. We paid €1850 but are willing to sell for €1500. It's for two people from the 30th December to the 6th January, flying with Ryanair (one bag 15kg) staying in Los Cristianos in Hotel Paradise Park resort and spa. If anyone is interested please feel free to contact me.

Not a hope are you going to get that LOL. Maybe try €1000. Even then it's steep for a trip that begins in 2.5 days.

Did you contact Ryanair to see how much they will charge you to change the name on the flight? Ambitious looking for €1500 at this time of year tbh.

Perhaps you could contact the local mods in the Bargain Alerts forum. They may allow you to sell this over there, their decision ultimately.
Otherwise, promote your offer on other social media outlets.
