    The answer is No with some technical caveats based on the exact van in question. The only way to know for sure is to either don't speed or wait for the fine.

    Yes. No.


    And as far as I know (from speaking with Gardai), they generally don't flash, as they are recording video footage, not taking pictures.

    As stated above, the go safe ones don't flash in the traditional sense. However I myself have seen a faint flash from the box over the back door on one two weeks ago at night, infra red flashes do have some light visible in the spectrum we can see and some people are more prone to seeing it than others. To be honest I'm anticipating a ticket as I was just over the limit, all depends on the tolerance they had the camera set for.
