Hi.i have seen an audi A4 s line 2012 model for sale.it is listed as from April 2012 and having one company car owner.
Should I be concerned at the mileage of 70,000 miles?
    Thanks in advance

Company car with 70000 km after 2 and a half years sounds just about right.

I assume this isn't in miles, is it?

I would be more concerned if it was 7000;)

    It is actually miles alright.
A wee bit on the high side for a 2012?

On a high side? Maybe. Unusual? Not really.

    44000 km / year.

Are you looking to buy it?

No it wouldn't be concerning high really 44k km isn't that hard to clock up in a year if you do any sort of long trips etc with it.

I would reckon that's about right. Most likely a reps car so about 140 miles per working day

I'd say below average for a company car even. My dad puts 60k a year on his as a sales rep.

Probably in better condition than a 2 year old one with only 20k of city mileage on it.

What you've neglected to tell us is what condition the car is in. This is nearly always more important than what miles are on the clock.

That would be pretty normal mileage for a 2012 UK company car. Service history is paramount though.

Thanks for the replies so far lads.
I haven't actually seen the car myself (to vouch for its condition) - just saw an online advert for it.
It is being sold by a dealer in the North advertised as one company car owner, full Audi service history.
Just wanted to get some thoughts on if the mileage was a little high for a 2012 car.
Am not an experienced car buyer myself by any means so all inputs gratefully appreciated.
    Thanks again

What sort of driving do you do? If it's mostly stop/start short trips then the petrol model will be less likely to give trouble. Modern diesel cars don't like constant short journeys, they also take longer to warm up so will not be that fuel efficient. How reliable either would be will also boil down to previous service history and maintenance.

Anyway the spec on that black A5 is absolutely terrible which would rule out that particular car for me straight away.

    Some things worth checking out

How is the price comparing to 2012 Audi A4 TDIs down south???

Don't forget to allow for the difference between sterling and euros - what looks an attractive price in sterling will be less attractive looking in euros - the exchange rate has tended to be such that whatever the figure is in sterling - it will be a higher figure in euros.

VRT will need to be factored in

To illustrate the exchange/VRT issue more - I saw what looked to be a temptingly priced 08/09 (forget which) MINI advertised for sale in the Uk at 8500 sterling - lovely.

But that became 11,500 euros when VRT and exchange rate was taken into account - not nearly so tempting......

thanks guys, I am actually living over in the uk so VRT not relevant. I guess what i would like to know is if there is particular maintenance associated with petrol or diesel cars as they approach 100K? Many (or all?) Petrol Audis before 2009 have a timing belt for example?

    😎

I think those TSi engine have a timing chain and some of them are known to get noisy and need replacing, not sure if that effects the 1.8 or 2.0 litre though.
