Exemptions for CIP qualification by CII in UK?

+ Mods, not sure if this would be the right forum - please move to a more appropriate forum if necessary +

Can anyone tell me if the Insurance Institute of Ireland's CIP qualification can be used for exemptions on any on the CII's professional qualifications in the UK?

I may be job hunting in the UK next year - The CIP qualification isn't recognised in the UK and was looking into getting the CII certificate in insurance to start out with. A lot of the modules seem to overlap quite a lot with the material I've already covered with the CIP. The CII website does have a section that addresses recognition of prior qualifications but from my reading of it, all prior qualifications are dealt with on a case by case basis.

Has anyone had any experience with the above?

    Thanks

You can give them a shout you will probably get a good response out of them. The whole purpose of the CII exams originally was that they were supposed to be universal and the qualification travelled. don't the CIP modules count towards the ACII in terms of credits anymore?

I rang the CII this morning - they said they had received submissions from CIP holders for CII exemptions before but that I would still have to submit a formal application to determine what exactly I was entitled to. The girl on the phone said it would depend on when the CIP was obtained; she wasn't able to give me any indications of what I can expect.

So, I may have to wait up to 3 weeks to find out now and pay £5 for the privilege!

CIP exemptions are given for ACII qualification for CIP exams done in the last 6 or 7 years anyway.
