I am probably a little silly for being upset about this, last night went out for dinner with a friend, she had invited two of other friends but they were both working in the restaurant that night, they sat down when finished work with us and one said no they wouldn't have drinks that they were going home (they don't live together), and she wasn't going out. Then she said they would have a drink and then go home. So they had a drink and left both in their own cars, we left about 10 minutes later.

They did go out - it wasn't that we wanted to go out with them, but more the fact that they lied, and they knew we probably wouldn't go out as both of us were working today.

So today on facebook was photos of them in another bar from last night. I met one of them at lunchtime and just said I thought you weren't go out last night and she said she didn't. So just said you might want to look at facebook and her face said it all.

Now not upset that they didn't invite us to go with them, but more the felt they had to lie to us, maybe I'm just being too sensitive. But if she just said oh we changed our minds but to say no we didn't go out until I said there were photos on facebook.

Its nothing to do with facebook, her "friends" lied to her, one of them to her face.

Either you want to keep them as friends and you tell them that they dont need to bother lying if they want to have separate plans.
Or else you think they're too old to lie like that, its time they grow a pair, and you dont have time for this kind of crap. Then you should tell them to take a hike.

They sound like more hassle than they're worth. Leave them to it and rise above it. That girl showed herself up when she lied to your face so just draw a line under it and leave it there.

I'd cut them loose myself. No time for people like that.

I'd probably not bother with them. I generally find honestly pretty essential trait in a friend so if someone is willing to break it that easily, an over something so small, then I'd find it nearly impossible to respect them again.

Is it possible the photo is from another night out? I don't tend to post photos the instant I take them.

But if it's not a mistake, then the lying would bother me.

No the photo wasn't taken from another night. Its not the going out that bothers me, sure we all go out at times but its the lie and I know its only a small lie but she could have just said oh we changed out mind.

    :-)

I've had friends like this, best thing to do is take them with a pinch of salt and know they're likely to do it again.
I wouldn't burn my bridges with them, it wasn't malicious, but don't trust them, because they're not honest with you

    Don't take it to heart.
Tbh I think the word 'friend' is used too easy nowadays.
They sound more like acquaintances. Let it go

Yeah the lying is what would annoy me too. I don't see why they couldn't just have been honest? I guess it just says more about them though... it could just be a sign of immaturity they weren't up front about it. I'd just take them with a pinch of salt in future as someone else said.

I don't think it's silly OP I'd be quite hurt by that sort of lying.

I wouldn't bother falling out with them but I'd reevaluate the friendship ie I'd keep things pleasant and not dwell on it but I woukd not consider them good friends anymore.
