Posting on behalf of a friend.
    05 Saab 1.9

Engine Management Light coming on and sometimes going into limp mode.
Pulls over, switches off engine and restarts with no problem!
He has noticed the common denominator of coming off the M50 at N2 on the new steeply banked junction .
I initially thought that the dpf ,if it had one , was blocked as the previous owner only used it as a shop/school runner.
He has taken out for a few blasts since he got it but the problem persists.
    Anyone ever suffer this?
I told him will need the fault codes read to try and give and indication of what is going on.

TBH, reading the codes is the only way forward, anything else is just blind guess work

My 2liter diesel Renault used to do the same- mainly on a long uphill run -
In my case it was the mass airflow meter - an easy enough fix once it'd been decided on - so get the fault codes read- and hopefully by someone who knows the make and it's likely faults-

Check with local Saab indy mechanics, they usually know these cars inside out and are a wealth of general info anyway.
