As per title of thread interested in hearing what people feel was the best model Mitsubishi has produced.
Mitsubishi produced the first generation 1982-1991, second generation 1991-1999, third generation 1999-2006 and fourth generation 2006 to present.
There has been several variations of engines introduced in the generations which has made one generation pajero with one engine differ on views to another on a different engine.
For some reason or another im with the second generation, i know they are an aging model but they were well built and had modern extras.
    Ill try attach a poll.

    Which generation? 10 votes

The first and second were bomb proof apart from occasional head troubles on the 2.8 I think. I chose mk3 in the pole though due to more comfort and alot more power and also extremely reliable. The only downside is the fuel pump is an expensive repair but shouldn't give trouble if the filter is changed regularly and an eye is kept on the filler pipe for corrosion. I can't comment on the newer models as I haven't yet owned one. I believe the fuel pump is a cheaper replacement so that's got to be a +.

Mk3 gearboxes are shyte though, so no go for me. Not a cheap fix either.

I've an auto box :) no dmf or clutch issues. Nicer drive and better in traffic. Had a manual and I'd never get one again for towing tbh. Automatic is in a different league.

3.2 DiD, long wheelbase, automatic transmission.
I drove a manual, 3.2 short wheelbase for 8 years. Drivetrain components are laughably weak and a short wheelbase 4x4 is utterly pointless.
    The 3.2 engine is excellent.

Changed from a swb 3.2 manual to a lwb automatic and the lwb is only way to go unless doing extreme off-roading which most don't. Great Jeeps with power aplenty
