Standa Alone Stove infront of Open Fire

I have an open fire in the house, not heating the sittingroom too well. It has a built in back boiler.

I'm wondering if I want to put in a standalone stove sitting infront of the fireplace does the back boiler need to come out?
Does there need to be a different flue or plate?

    Whats the best procedure?
How much on average would a plumber cost to install this for me?

    Thanks :)

Some inset stoves will fit in the space in front of a BB. But will not heat back boiler.
Stand alone stove will need flue pipe and maybe liner.
And will need a carbon monoxide alarm.

Have you looked at the boru fire door. Put one in my mums open fire. Very easy to do. Drilled and Screwed at the bottom to the hearth and two clamps at the top you tighten with a spanner and that's it.
With a back boiler your inset stove might not have the room to fit. If its a wrap around boiler you won't get a flue to connect up either unless you rip it out which is a bit silly as the stove will only heat that room instead of the house.

I'd also look into connecting the boiler to the stove, shame to waste it. Upgraded our stove this year and delighted I did.
