I have an Emirates Skywards account, can I claim points even if a book the flights with a third party seller (much cheaper to do this!).

I see nothing in the Emirates FAQ about this... thanks.

You can, most 3rd party booking sites will ask you for your FF number.

Just remember to look at how the airlines awards miles. Delta gives a proportion of the miles traveled based on the price you paid for the ticket (cheaper ticket earns less miles), whereas American just gives you the miles that you traveled. I've found that its still more cost effective just to book the cheap tickets.
