    Hi guys

I hope someone can give me some advice as I am at a complete loss. I was unemployed for a couple of years and got a job back in September.it took 6 weeks for my wages to go through..The employer pays wages fortnightly. They kept bothering me off saying it will be in this week then next week..anyway once I did get it they assured me all was in order and it wouldn't happen again..Two weeks later no wages again..had to go and enquire again and I was bothered off so couple of weeks after I was paid..might I add both times I had been paid was cash in hand..third time I was waiting again but was paid into bank account. I got payslips y day and looked through and noticed I was only paying usc on all and on one I paid prsi and paye. I am currently unwell and went to work y day but got a sick cert from doctor later in the day and they asked me to work anyway and got mad when I reminded them of sick cert..also I haven't been paid in a month now and when I asked when I will receive this I was told next week sometime.

I rang revenue today who informed me I am not registered as working and employer has not been paying any taxes for me at all.

I have a family and bills to pay..I was always in work early..always done my work well..got on with all staff members and was always available to come in on short notice.

Can employers just pick and choose when to pay staff? And why hadn't they been paying taxes and am I at fault for not checking that sooner? I mean I've worked in many places before and I have never had to register with revenue to pay taxes..my employers always took care of it.

Sorry for the long winded story.

  • Do you have a contract? It should stipulate how often you get paid. The whole thing sounds dodgy though if they don't have you registered.

The company has money problems. This may have an unhappy ending. I'd start looking for another job if I were you.
