Anyone know which is a better lounge - the Dublin Airport one or the Aer Lingus one?

Thinking of booking in to one

EI lounge is considerably better, though to get the most out of it, it's best visited after the morning rush.

You can't just book into this one though, you need status. Do you have that op?

Non-GC members have to pony up, but anyone can access it by pre-paying online or just rocking up to reception

Neither is very good tbh but EI is the better of the two. I certainly wouldn't pay for either it wasn't included in my flight.

I have EI status so I use the GC lounge. Wouldn't pay for it TBH otherwise

Thanks all. Flying Christmas Eve so just want to escape the crowds in the airport.

It might make no difference tbh depending on the time you're there.

The EI lounge is ok but I wouldn't be paying 25e for it. Try get a seat in the upstairs area if you do go.

The only decent benefit to GC membership is the express security line, though there's nothing express about it during the morning commute fest.

    Im in EI one now.
    Its awful.
You would be better off just sitting in the airport than paying for this.

    +1

I have GC and most of the time I sit with a coffee in the departures lounge rather than go to the AL lounge. I once even left the lounge to go back outside and wait - I can never understand when people pay into these lounges

I've tended to find that the airport is pretty quiet on Christmas Eve - but even if it wasn't I'm still not sure either lounge is worth the money.

Mostly passengers wrriving into Dublin Christmas eve, quiet enough departing, at least it was last yr when i flew out, and lounges are a waste really, not alot to offer.

I'm happy just scoffing a BK and then reading the paper in the closest bar to my gate. The simple pleasures. Probably cost less than going to a lounge too.
