I was just reading an article on Leon Osman and Martinez says he doesn't need surgery on his foot. It got me thinking what do they mean by surgery? Sometimes you hear someone has an ankle injury they need surgery. Is it full on, on the operating table stuff knocked out or something else? Or when a player has ligament damage and they do surgery. Awfully confused. Basically just want to know the degrees of the word surgery in football. Seem to use it alot.

I think he has a nice foot but if he feels the need to have surgery then go for it.

    ^^

Im not a 50k a week footballer but i damaged the ligament in my ankle it sort of sticks out of my ankle now options were:

Phyiso..... basically it being rubbed. Didnt work.
Homeo.....basically rubbing vague **** on it.
Surgery.. slice open the ankle cut away the damaged ligament (its sticks out of my ankle) and it would be ok in 3 months.

have yet to get a date for surgery.
