Depends if you never had a ds go for 3ds as better catalogue of games and cheaper. Wii u still doesn't have as much games available. If you want online wii u as you have smash and mario kart to play. Not much help but you can always pick up a wii u later when more games out like a new zelda

I agree with this. If I were you I'd wait until Xenoblade Chronicles X, Starfox and Zelda are out before getting the Wii U. There's no good deals for the Wii U at the minute. The games are priced too high as well. The Wii U will likely get a price cut next year at some point as well.

3DS is a much better option. There's good deals to be had. A huge back catalogue of brilliant games and remember the Majoras Mask remake is coming in the first few months of the new year. The games are cheaper as well.

Given who's asking, Get a 3DS XL. Then sell it in february and get the new 3DS XL with the nipplestick. Then sell that around next may and get a WiiU and Splatoon. Then sell that in October to cover your rent or motor insurance.

I find for handheld gaming I'm using my phone more out-n-about because the 3DS is a pain to take out, flip open, resume, realise that the game is far too involved for a 2 minute burst, return to pocket before my wife realises I'm gaming while driving / pushing the buggy / talking to her over coffee.
At home, I use the WiiU the way I used to use my 3DS thanks to off-TV.

Don't get me wrong, the 3DS is fantastic, it's library of games is unparalleled and I had many many kilohours of enjoyment out of it. But somehow it doesn't fit the gaming-sized gap in my life the way it used to.

Would you try the 2 ds or is the screen too small? It is cheaper and I found that the 3d effects where not that great and turned it off.

Not a nipple stick, every one knows the extra controller on the new 3DS is a nubbin!

And I'd get a WiiU now, get one of the new 3DS consoles in the new year, and the normal sized ones are gorgeous.
