What does reduced air flow in chest mean?

I went to the Dr today because I suspected I had a chest infection. I've had pain in the front, back and right hand side for about a week, but didn't feel any congestion on my chest, which is why I waited until today. Dr said I had reduced air flow on right hand side of chest...does this mean I have a chest infection or does it mean something else? I was too embarrassed to ask him because I work in the medical sector and he looked at me like I knew what he was on about!
