Most of you may have heard about this but I can't find any thread on it.
Basically a movie called "The Interview" was due to be released next week which is about two guys who try to kill the North Korean leader.

    http://www.rte.ie/news/2014/1218/667620-sony-the-interview/

Now, of course the North then said this is an act of war and that they will retaliate...
....and retaliate they did by allegedly launching a cyber attack on Sony and threatening cinemas around the US that were planning on showing the film.
So, Sony has backed down and will not release the film.
I'm unsure what sort of precedent this will cause but I must say that Sony may have shot itself in the foot here for future projects.
Impressive as well from the North that they could bring a company like that to accept their demands.
With regards to the movie, it sounds like it would have been sh1t to begin with.
Sony should release the movie as straight to tv one and reap in the advertising revenue due to all the publicity it has generated.
What will the North Koreans do then? Bomb every tv in the US :D
So an attack on freedom of speech? Or... could Sony be playing a really good publicity stunt?
