New Entrant Young Farmer Advice

I'll summarise this as short and best I can:

Will be getting green cert this Spring.

Father farms and gets state pension
Mother also farmer-only income for her.

They operate separate herd numbers and have separate land.

Mother was talking about signing over her farm this year but would like to keep farming for income.

I was thinking it may be best start a joint herd number but anyone know how we would be effected with entitlements?

Any advise on best way to proceed?

A lot of people give out about Teagasc but I think they are the best in these circumstances.
